Day 2: Cyrus Part 2
“We’re going to be okay right mommy?” Cynthia said as she got in to a more comfortable position by placing her head upon Insnia’s lap. “Daddy is going to make us all better isn’t he, that’s what daddies do, they save the ones they love!”
Insnia smiled and stared at Cynthia’s green eyes and slowly began brushing Cynthia’s blonde hair. “And once you’re all better, I can finally hear your voice again!” Cynthia said excitingly. “Then I can hear your voice again!”
Cynthia continued to talk about all the things she missed before the illness. She kept going on and on for awhile until suddenly she stopped and looked down at her feet. She stared at her own small feet, wiggled her ten toes, and then stared up back at her smiling mom and said “Mommy… I know you can’t hear and I am talking a lot, but I only talk because I know that you feel what I am saying. So I like to talk about all the fun memories I have with you, that way you feel happy because of the fun memories!”
As Cynthia kept talking, Insnia started to feel even more tired than ever before and she figured that her time was almost up. She bent her head over, holds Cynthia’s head, and kissed her on the forehead. Cynthia then moves back to her side of the bed, watched her mom slide down back into a sleeping position. Cynthia leans over and kisses her mom on the forehead and whispers, “Good night mommy, we’ll talk more in our dreams, remember to meet me at the fountain.” Cynthia pulled away, slid into bed, and closed her eyes.
As the night roamed, Cyrus walks into the house covered in all kinds of dirt and bugs. He tiptoed across the room to place his day findings in the kitchen, and then he tiptoed to the room. He stood by the doorway, smiled while he watched his two girls sleeping soundly, and began tiptoeing out of the room. He walked back into the kitchen and sorted out all the plants and weeds. He neatly placed each individual in their right pot, and started to prepare his memory potion.
It takes Cyrus all night to make just two potions. The sun was starting to rise and was shining into Cyrus’s red eyes. He looked at the two potions and placed them on a carving on the floor. He kneeled down on a tarp and began to pray over and over, “Please allow me to remember.” He stood up and picked up the two vials. He brought out two big cups and a smaller cup and began pouring water in each of them. Grabbed a vial and poured it into the small cup, then he grabbed the other vial and began pouring it into the cup engraved with a very unique, scythe looking letter “I”.
Cyrus held the two cups dosed with the potion and brought them into the room. Cynthia woke up and saw her dad walk into the room. “Good morning sweetie!” Cyrus said approaching Cynthia.
“Good morning Cyrus, what a lovely morning this is!” Cynthia shouted.
Cyrus stared at Cynthia and Insnia and dropped both cups shattering them into many pieces.
